The installed capacity of RES in our country increased to 9,300 megawatts this May, according to the data of DAPEEP, from 8,500 megawatts at the beginning of the year.

Of these, 4,294 megawatts are wind, 4,173 megawatts photovoltaic, 371 megawatts rooftop solar, 246 megawatts small hydro, 99 megawatts biogas-biomass and 118 megawatts CHP.

Within May, 207.4 MW of new RES were installed and the distribution of new penetration is 153.2 MW for PV, 51.8 MW for Wind, 0.7 MW for Biomass and 1.7 MW for MYS . The penetration case for 2022 of DAPEEP foresees RES installations of 1,900 MW and the distribution of penetration is 910 MW for Wind, 950 MW for Photovoltaic, 10 MW for SHP, 15 MW for Biomass and 15 MW for CHP.

Given the continued course of photovoltaic installations in the country and the slowdown noted by the wind power counterparts in the first half, it is considered possible that within the second half the total power of the former will surpass the latter for the first time.

However, according to ELETAEN, at the end of June 2022 over 650 MW of new wind farms were under construction, the majority of which are expected to be connected to the grid within the next 12 months.
