In a very productive year, despite the pandemic crisis, it finally evolved in 2020 for wind energy in Greece and although the annual statistics of ELETAEN has not yet been completed, everything shows that the total installed capacity to date now exceeds 4,000 MW.

Last year’s record, of course, did not “break”. In a year with as much uncertainty as last year, it was virtually impossible to achieve a performance similar to that of 2019, when more than ever new wind farms were connected, with a total capacity of 727.5 MW.

The final statistics that ELETAEN will announce soon will confirm that the pandemic has slowed down the pace of installation of new parks, temporarily postponed some plans and created temporary problems in the transfer of equipment and movement of workers, however the numbers will be better than the market estimates. at the end of the first half of last year. At that time, the statistics had “measured” total installed capacity in Greece 3,884 MW, connection within the first six months of 110 new wind turbines, capacity 287.3 MW, ie an increase of 8% compared to the end of 2019.
