Greece became the first pan-European in the production of wind energy yesterday, as it covered 33.2% of the daily consumed electricity according to the Windeurope link.
In Europe as a whole, wind farms reached 11.2% yesterday, of which 9.7% were onshore production and 1.5% offshore.
It is also worth noting that in 2020 wind turbines covered in our country 20.4% of the annual electricity consumed.
Regarding the first half of 2021, for 847 hours the wind power penetration was over 30%. For 1752 hours the penetration of RES variables. was over 30% and for 350 hours it was over 50%, while the highest hourly penetration of wind power was 66.4% and was observed in the early hours of Monday 11.1.2021 (03:00 – 04:00 CET).
