The Environmental Awards 2020 in their 6th event highlighted and rewarded good practices and initiatives for the protection of the Environment, as well as innovative “green” projects, technologies or programs, which contribute to the formation of a healthy environment and economic development. The winners had the opportunity to make statements and be photographed with their prizes on Thursday, October 15, 2020, at House 124 in Chalandri, where all security measures were taken.

The Chairman of the Jury of the awards Dr. Katia Lazaridi, Professor, President of the Department of Geography at Harokopio University, among other things, emphasized in her statement the importance of “green” initiatives by companies, while noting that their distinctions are not recorded as simple successes, but are an opportunity for improvement and development. Finally, she stressed that protecting the environment equates to business profitability, as it reduces waste, waste management costs through prevention, reuse and recycling and improves the public image of the company, both for consumers and management, and the wider society.

SPYROPOULOS SA was awarded the SILVER award in the category Organization and Process Innovation, Climate Change for the project: Construction of photovoltaic stations of a total capacity of 12 MW for the “ENERGY COMMUNITY OF PIERIA”.
