According to a recent IEA report, worldwide pump sales increased by 11% compared to the previous year in 2022. The use of these devices has become important in the heating sector, covering approximately 10% of heating needs in buildings today.

According to the Agency, heat pumps cover more than 100 million households, or about one in ten homes that need reliable heating. However, many households use pumps only during the winter or as an additional source of heating, especially in areas where they are mainly used for the cooling of buildings.

Sales of heat pumps in Europe increased significantly in 2022 by 49%, close to 3 million. The three largest markets are Italy, France and Germany, which account for almost half of sales. Poland and the Czech Republic see their markets doubling in 2022, according to the IEA.
